HAGAN SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION: Nationwide need-based merit scholarship. Up to $7,500 each semester for up to 8 consecutive semesters.
Requirements:

  • Must graduate from a public, private, charter, magnet, or STEM high school
  • Must have achieved a 3.5 GPA
  • Must enroll in an eligible college or university the first semester following graduation
  • Must maintain a 4 year or less graduation schedule
  • Must work 240 prior to commencement of the fall semester of college
  • Applicants Adjusted Gross Household Income reported for 2022 Federal Income Tax purposes must not have exceeded $100,000

Missouri Canady Dudley Memorial Scholarship
Applicants must graduate from either Emanuel County Institute or Swainsboro High School with plans to pursue a degree in business administration or communications. Students attending University System of Georgia College or Technical College System Georgia are eligible. 
Students must provide:

  • High school transcript 
  • Letter of support from their high school counselor
  • A short essay describing themselves, their accomplishments and activities while attending high school, and their future plans for college 
  • Application packets are sent to the Emanuel County Board of Education, who then provides them to family members who will make the final selection.

DEADLINE: Due to Mrs. Hooks or Mrs. Roberson by Thursday, March 14.


YEOMANS SCHOLARSHIP: 
Recipient must have been accepted into law enforcement OR healthcare program of study at an accredited post- secondary school in Georgia. Students complete and submit to the high school counselor the following: 

  • Application form
  • High school transcript 
  • Two letters of recommendation (one from the high school counselor or teacher and one from a community member) 
  • A short essay describing their plans for the future and how this scholarship can help them achieve these plans.
  • Applicants must also participate in an interview with a selection committee.  These interviews are tentatively set for Friday, April 19, 2024.

RICKY GILMER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP:  Must have participated in activities at Swainsboro-Emanuel County Recreation Department.

  • Plans to attend college or technical college
  • One reference letter with application
  • Qualities exhibited by Ricky...compassion, kindness, love for sports and children, desire to make life better for others
  • Minimum 2.0 GPA

Due to Mrs. Hooks or Mrs. Roberson by Monday, April 1

ELOISE VINING SCHOLARSHIP:
The purpose of this scholarship is to assist those who have the potential and desire to further their education to achieve their personal and career goals.
A completed application form must be accompanied by:

  • Letter of recommendation from school, community, or educational agency representative with personal knowledge of the applicant's character, educational commitment, and financial needs.
  • Personal essay about background, career goals, personal goals, and indicating why he/she should receive this scholarship.
  • Proof that the student has been accepted/admitted to the school chosen.

JULIAN & JAN HESTER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: $1,000
1. Open to Georgia high school seniors who will be entering a Georgia university, college, or technical institute (if program is two or more years) in the fall semester of 2024. Scholarship funds will be awarded to another student if student does not start that semester. 
2. Applicants must be sponsored by a CBA Member community bank to apply for the scholarship. Applicants do not have to be a customer of their sponsoring bank. (In this case, Durden Bank)
3. Requirements:
a) Complete Application
b) Complete Activity Record
c) Complete Essay
d) Complete Qualifications (1 page completed by a teacher, mailed to the bank by the teacher.)
e) Complete High School Transcript
f) Printout of SAT and/or ACT scores (if not included on transcript)
(Failure to include ALL of the above will result in immediate disqualification.) 
4. Mail or personally deliver all original documents to your sponsoring bank by the deadline.  Due to Mrs. Hooks or Mrs. Roberson by Thursday, April 4.
5. Awards are based on academic merit and extracurricular participation, not financial need.

EMANUEL COUNTY FAMILY CONNECTION SCHOLARSHIP: 
Each applicant must:

  • Be a graduating high school senior.
  • Reside in Emanuel County
  • Be accepted by an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school
  • Have at least a C grade point average (GPA)

WHAT TO SUBMIT:
